Map to the Creative Arts Center of Dallas
The Creative Arts Center
of Dallas, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 1963 to serve
as a cultural center, to develop public awareness of the arts, to sponsor
artistic activities, and to conduct classes in the arts. Classes include clay figure
sculpting, metal sculpture, wood and stone sculpture, mosaics, pottery,
drawing, found object stone sculpture, and more!
From downtown Dallas,
take I-30 east for about 3 miles. Exit Ferguson Road and turn left (north)
under the freeway. Turn right on Laughlin, the fourth small street after
the freeway. CAC is a half block down on your right at 2360 Laughlin Drive.
Hotel Info
Unfortunately there is no hotel within walking distance. It’s Dallas - you'll want to have a rent car. There is a La Quinta on I-30 and Jim Miller Road that is pretty close to the school but it is in an iffy neighborhood, not too bad but could be better. Other nicer choices are anything downtown (the center is 3 miles east), a La Quinta on 75 (Central Expressway) and Fitzhugh, and a Doubletree at 75 and Loop 12. The last two are both close to some nifty restaurants and shopping.
